David, Randy, Luke & Jeff
August 1998

INTRODUCTION
On August 13th - 17th 1998, David invited some co-workers to the cabin for 5 days of much-needed R&R. Randy Evans and Luke Vogel visited last year while this was Jeff Kane's first walleye trip in 16 years. A new tradition has begun -- The Young Men.

RESULTS
What great fun! We caught nearly 150 fish in 5 days. Most were in the 13" - 15" range although we got into a few 16- & 17-inchers on our last outing. Team Ammo (Luke & Randy) beat the New Marketing Order (Jeff & David) in the team competition. Randy's highlight of the trip was seeing a bear swimming across the lake while fishing for muskie. He tried to get close enough for a picture but the bear wasn't in the mood for a photo-op! Another "highlight" of the trip was being called "yahoos" for paying for our fishing licences with quarters! If you're not fond of being put down, don't visit Clark's ... Bratland's next door is much more customer-friendly. [UPDATE, March 2005 -- Bratland's went out of business last year so I went next door. Clarks is now under new ownership (since 2000?) and is called Bobbys. My experience was good this time.]

<>In the pictures at right ... [1] Every rookie (Jeff) has to have his picture taken with his first perch!; [2] Luke is caught in a moment of deep thought; [3] Randy, Luke and Jeff with our last outing's stringer of keepers... fish measuring 15" (David's), 16" (Jeff's), 16.5" (Randy's), and 17.5" (Luke's).
