### For Immediate Release ###

VERMILION BAY, ONTARIO, CANADA
Tuesday, June 2, 1998

Wanda Walleye (14.5 lbs, 33.5", age unconfirmed) suddenly passed away this morning following the ingestion of a tainted food item. Foul play is suspected. Ms. Walleye was a reclusive, yet respected, member of the Indian Lake Chain community.

The prime suspect in this event is Mr. Rob Huschen, a rookie visitor to the area whose principle residence is in central Illinois, USA. Mr. Huschen was observed on Edwards Lake on the day in question tossing disguised food items in the vicinity of Wanda's local habitat. The accused was reportedly using a 1/16th-ounce jig with a 2-inch Twister tail and nightcrawler attached to an ultra-light pole with 6-pound test line. His alleged accomplice, Mr. Shawn Nichols (of Nichols' Landing on Forest Lake), is also a suspect as the event's mastermind and get-away driver. Sportsmanship charges and extradition proceedings are currently being contemplated. Further details will be provided as they become available.

Ms. Walleye is survived by her mate - Sir Walter - plus many brothers & sisters, and countless offspring spanning several generations.

Visitation for Ms. Walleye was held at Bolen's Point in the workshop. A memorial was initially established at Nichols' Landing for those wishing to pay their condolences. [Addendum: Wanda was reclaimed by Mr. Huschen in 2005 and now rests at his domicile.]

May Wanda Walleye forever rest in peace.
